The drive
The road leaves Dubrovnik along the coast, crosses the short Bosnian corridor at Neum or takes the Pelješac bridge, then joins the A1 near Ploče and runs north past Split and Zadar before the Sveti Rok tunnel. It is a long day in a car, but a scenic one, and the motorway section is fast.

Worth knowing before you book
Consider stopping overnight
Split or Zadar sit naturally halfway. Two shorter days cost little more than one long transfer and you actually see something.
Or make the stops part of it
We can build this as a one-way trip with Krka or Split included rather than a straight drive. It costs less than booking the segments separately.
Pelješac or Neum
The Pelješac bridge avoids the Bosnian corridor entirely, which means no border stop. The driver picks whichever is faster on the day; both are included in the price.

How long does it take to drive from Dubrovnik to Plitvice?
About six hours for 480 kilometres, including one short break. It is the longest transfer we offer and we generally suggest splitting it over two days.
Do we cross into Bosnia on the way?
Only if the Neum corridor is faster on the day. The Pelješac bridge avoids it entirely. Either way it is included and the driver decides based on traffic.
Would it be better to stop somewhere overnight?
Honestly, yes. Split or Zadar break the journey almost exactly in half, and two shorter drives cost only a little more than one very long one.
